Wuzhou Special Paper orders two OptiWin Drum two-drum base winders from Valmet for its PM 21 paper machine in Quzhou, China. The company plans to use the new winders to meet the paper machine’s high output and quality goals, with a focus on efficiently producing multiple paper grades at full capacity, according to the announcement of Valmet.

The winders will process parent rolls with a width of 8,415 mm at a design speed of 3,000 m/min. The delivery includes automation features such as set change with core and tail gluing, slitter positioning, and a spare parts package. Valmet will also supply Industrial Internet connectivity solutions to support optimized performance and diagnostics.

This latest order follows a previous winder contract between the two companies in July 2024. Wuzhou Special Paper expects the new winders to align with the needs of its high-capacity PM 21 line, which handles a variety of specialty paper products.

Wuzhou, founded in 2008, is one of China’s largest manufacturers of glassine paper and tracing paper. Its product range also includes food wrapping paper, transfer printing paper, and special fine paper.
